When it comes to boots and footwear in general, I always lean towards the minimalist approach. However, what is good for me may not be good for someone else. You add in pre-existing injuries and other factors, some people may want and even need more foot protection than me. I always keep my eye out for good shoes and boots. I look for certain specs and when the footwear meets them, I do what I can to get those shoes into my review process. If I find the footwear good to go, I then create a video review and add it here on this website.

I had heard of the Irish Setter boot name for many years. I even owned a pair of Irish Setter boots when I was in the boy scouts. They have a very credible name because they have built quality boots and other footwear for many decades now. I was finally able to get a pair of their Irish Setter Pinnacle Boots for me to review. I had been eyeballing these boots for nearly a year. I was very curious as to a bunch of different technologies that these boots contained, that I had never even heard of.

I received my Irish Setter Pinnacle Boots and right from the unboxing, I liked what I saw. The camo pattern looked cool, the lacing system was durable and set up nicely. They were relatively light for a US Size 12 Boots and weighed in at around 3.7lbs.

I put them on, had them laced in no time and liked how they felt. I decided to go on a hike with my dog and put them through varied terrain. We hit sand, mud, grass, concrete and plenty of uneven surfaces. The boots performed great, especially without a break in period. The fact that these boots are waterproof makes them a viable choice for a few of my clients and subscribers that have been asking me for a good rucking boot option for them.
