I have been using body camera’s for quite a few years now. I find it an essential piece of equipment when it comes to working security jobs. If a situation arises, I am able to explain my actions with actual proof. This gives me much greater peace of my and allows me to focus on my duties and responsibilities. Body cam’s have become standard issue for many police, military and first responders. However, somewhat recently, civilians have began to see the value in using body cams and have opted for using them in order to keep their own liability at bay.
I have owned several body cams over the years. One issue that I had was that when the non-removable battery began to fail, I had to replace the body cam as opposed to just getting a new battery. This became costly and of course, annoying. On those days where I would had a 12 hour security gig, I would have to attach my camera to an external battery so that it would keep recording throughout the duration of my shift. I received my AEGIS 300 body cam and right from the unboxing I was impressed. It was small, lightweight and built to take a punch. I charged up the battery and began testing the body cam. I found the operation to be very intuitive and any questions that I had were easily answered with the included manual. The picture and video quality were much better than my previous body cam’s and the audio was also top notch. I affixed my AEGIS 300 to my back pack and headed to the park with my dog.
I cycled through most of the features while having the body cam clipped to my backpack. The operation was smooth and getting to my preferred setting also took very little time for me to familiarize myself with. Overall, I was very impressed.
